History & Overview Prior to the mid-seventies if you said you went to Orlando for vacation, people would say, "Where the heck is that?" Before Walt Disney began building his famous empire there, Orlando was just a quiet little cow-town. Today it's still a fairly mellow place, but it's a city now - one with art museums, parks, a college, and some fantastic shops and restaurants.
Attractions & Outdoor Activities Orlando is the home of truly world-famous attractions - over 60 of them to be exact. Nowhere else can you learn about Pacific Ocean sealife, science and technology of the future, artworks from all over the world, and how movies are made - all in the same week! Add to that all the opportunities there are to have fun in the great outdoors: fishing, golfing, water skiing. Orlando is really a place for all ages and persuasions.
Restaurants & Nightlife There are literally thousands of restaurants in the Orlando area. You could spend a month here, eat out for every meal and still not hit them all. The same goes for the nightlife scene. Everything from country & western, to dinner shows, to Dixieland jazz is here. You just name it!
Shopping Orlando has more stores for its size than any other city in the U.S., which makes shopping here a breeze. Boutiques, shopping malls, outlet centers, where ever you like to shop the most, Orlando has the places to do it. Oh, and don't forget all the gift shops and specialty stores at those 60 different attractions!
